BBVA COMPASS BOWL TO SERVE UP DREAMLAND BAR-B-QUE AT LEGION FIELD
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — BBVA Compass Bowl has partnered with Dreamland Bar-B-Que to add five Dreamland kiosks to the concession stands at Legion Field for the BBVA Compass Bowl on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013. The stadium menu includes barbecue nachos, barbecue pork sandwiches and barbecue chicken sandwiches.
“We appreciate the cooperative effort to make Dreamland Bar-B-Que available to Pittsburgh and Ole Miss fans at the 2013 BBVA Compass Bowl,” said Mark Meadows, BBVA Compass Bowl executive director. “Visitors to our state will now have an opportunity to discover why Dreamland Bar-B-Que is so popular with fans of football and barbecue everywhere.”
Ole Miss and Pittsburgh fans will also get to sample Dreamland’s homemade banana pudding on Friday, Jan. 4, during the BBVA Compass Street Fest and Pep Rally at historic Five Points South. From 2-8 p.m., Dreamland will distribute free banana pudding vouchers redeemable at its Southside location. A complimentary shuttle service will take fans from the Street Fest to Dreamland Bar-B-Que and back.
At 4:30 p.m., during the Street Fest, five finalists will compete in the Dreamland Ultimate Fan Rib Eating Contest. Prequalified contestants will compete against each other and the clock. The object is to eat six Dreamland ribs in the least amount of time. The contestant who cleans six rib bones of all attached meat first will win the Dreamland Ultimate Fan Package.
“Dreamland is excited to welcome BBVA Compass Bowl fans to Birmingham,” said Ashley Davis, Dreamland’s marketing manager. “We’re proud to offer Ole Miss and Pitt fans a great experience and a true taste of Magic City hospitality.”
The BBVA Compass Street Fest is free and open to the public and features live music, the BBVA Compass Kids Zone and food and beverages for the whole family. High Valley, presented by WZZK-FM, will perform on the Miller Lite Stage from 2-4:30 p.m. The Pep Rally starts at 5 p.m. and features players, coaches, cheerleaders, mascots and marching bands from each school. Following the pep rally, fans from both teams will enjoy partying to the music of Chevy 6 on the Miller Lite Stage.
